Description:
In this course, students will comprehend William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, they will analyze perspectives in literature during the Civil War era, identify tone and mood in writing, and practice using language skills to communicate ideas. They will conduct research, write rough drafts, and then edit their writing to create a final draft. They will also write an argument for opposing sides of an issue. Skills and strategies addressed include identifying literary devices, comprehending dramatic irony, defining bias and propaganda, properly citing sources, identifying parts of a sentence, and creating a presentation using digital media.
